INTRODUCTION Orpheus can be used in the Operating Room of any modern Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Unit, Intensive Care Unit or in a purpose built Simulation Centre and is designed to be connected to most commonly used equipment. Connecting the Orpheus Perfusion Simulator to any make or model of patient monitor using standard patient leads, the Orpheus realistically recreates a variety of rhythms and outputs and permits display of ECG, Arterial and CVP waveforms as well as nasopharyngeal temperature. A secondary display at the Perfusionist's workspace provides mixed venous oxygen saturation monitoring, activated clotting time, blood gas results and controls for the administration of vasoactive drugs.
